Background

AREAi (Aid for Rural Education Access Initiative) is a non-governmental organisation and an EDtech non-profit that designs and provides interactive digital and offline learning tools for engaging learning experiences to improve learning outcomes for children, youth, and women who are not in education, employment or training. As part of our strategy to ensure inclusivity, improve understanding among beneficiaries, and enhance the effectiveness of programme delivery in multilingual and diverse communities. AREAi intends to obtain competitive quotations for the translation of project documents for programmatic and institutional use.

AREAi hereby invites qualified high-quality, cost-effective translation service providers for the translations of project materials from English to Hausa ensuring accurate, culturally appropriate, and accessible communication across target audiences.

Scope of Work

The selected vendor will be responsible for the following:

• Translation of Mobile Technical Literacy Curriculum from English to Hausa
• Use of single accurate, culturally and language appropriate Hausa especially Kaduna State Hausa for accessible communication by the beneficiaries.

Technical Specifications

Bidders should base their quotations on the following minimum requirements:

• Quantity: 15235 words / 72 pages

Samples of similar completed work are strongly encouraged.

Vendor Eligibility Requirements

Interested vendors must demonstrate the following:

• Proven experience in the translation of text in different languages or specific language required in this RFQ
• Evidence of previous similar assignments (portfolio, documents, or references)
• Capacity to deliver the full quantity within the proposed timeline
• Legal registration of the business (CAC or equivalent)

Quotation Submission Requirements

Quotation should include the following:

• Company Profile (Legal name, address, contact details, years of operation and relevant experience)
• Technical Proposal (Capacity to translate text to Hausa language of the context is desirable and estimated period of service and delivery timeline)
• Financial Proposal (Unit cost per word/page and total cost for 15,235 words / 72 pages. Also include any applicable taxes or additional charges)
• Samples/Portfolio (Physical samples or clear text/documents of similar knowledge materials previously translated.)

Evaluation Criteria

Quotations will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Compliance with technical specifications
• Quality of language use and adaptation to contextual need
• Cost-effectiveness and value for money
• Vendor experience and past performance
• Delivery timeline

Delivery Timeline

The bidder should clearly indicate the expected period of translation and delivery from the date of contract award.

All information provided by AREAi in this RFQ must be treated as confidential. AREAi reserves the right to accept or reject any quotation, in whole or in part, without obligation to provide justification.
